In order to reproduce the high-gain sound of the Ecstasy Red channel, an op-amp-free design was used, with a five-stage discrete Class A gain stage. This original approach that is not bound by conventional concepts achieves high-gain distortion that is touch-sensitive and has better separation than ever before.

The power supply for the Ecstasy Red is a DC 9V input, but it also uses an internal boost circuit, and the high voltage operation achieves a dynamic range approaching that of the Ecstasy amplifier.
