CENTAUR was developed with the concept of a pedal that is natural, has little compression, and is open and responsive...or more precisely, a pedal that you don't even notice you're using. Its unique and exquisite sound has captivated many guitarists and left many legends behind. However, CENTAUR was handmade by Bill, and production was discontinued due to the poor workmanship, much to everyone's regret.

The successor to the CENTAUR, Bill's latest product, is the KTR, which is currently Klon's only product. The concept is to have the same sound as the CENTAUR, but to make it smaller and more affordable. While he believes that buffered bypass is better like the CENTAUR, true bypass is also available to meet the requests of today's users.

In order to reduce the size, the type and layout of parts were changed, but Bill spent two years selecting the parts to correct the resulting change in sound, just like with CENTAUR. However, just like CENTAUR, NOS germanium diodes are used as essential parts. This shows that the innovation in the CENTAUR circuit and the unique housing are merely a means to an end, and the essence of Klon is Bill Finnegan's commitment and sensibility to sound.
