Leqtique is a brand started by Shun Nokina in pursuit of "Reality" based on his experience at Shun Nokina Design etc.
It features the same elite components as SND and a thoroughly handmade construction, offering a different world that goes far beyond "cost performance."

The production of this product uses not only top-grade modern components such as PRP Resistors, OS-Cons, and Wonder "Signature" Solder in a machined aluminum case, but also components with a so-called "antique" feel such as Allen Bradley Resistors and Vintage MKT Capacitors.

The Leqtique brand has released many types of effects categorized as Overdrive or Distortion, but the only one in the lineup that could be called OD/DS (Overdrive/Distortion) was the Leqtique Redemptionist. "Roger" was designed with a different interpretation of OD/DS, aiming for the "sound that a guitar amp's distortion channel originally had." It has a completely new circuit configuration that makes it feel like a small boutique amp at your feet, and is designed to have the familiar operability of a 3-knob effector.
As an idea, we first focused on "audio power amplifier ICs" (hereafter referred to as Power ICs), which have been used several times in the world of effects design. Power ICs are generally used to directly drive speakers in small audio equipment, unlike the amplification of op-amps, which are the heart of effects. This method of distorting the latter stage by using a large input from the former stage, which is considered to be the power amplifier section of a guitar amplifier and the FETs and transistors placed in front of it as the preamp section, has been used very rarely in effects design, but its natural and linear response to the guitar volume in particular was a level that set it apart from other designs. However, since most of the distortion components are formed by the transistors and FETs in the former stage, it is also true that previous designs were different from the "original sound created by distorting the sound by putting excessive input into the Power IC." Therefore, in "Roger", instead of interpreting it as a stereo effector design that only used mono type Power ICs, we adopted the stereo type Power IC "NJM2073" for the first time and realized a pure Power IC two-stage structure that is arranged in series and constructed only with Power ICs in the front and rear stages. While keeping other additional parts to a minimum so as not to interfere with the original distortion sound, we set three controls with a wide variable range that can be used all-round with one unit. Since the volume is based on the Power IC, it can obtain a very large maximum volume depending on the input power if necessary. As mentioned above, the tone has the simplest passive filter, so you can enjoy the original Power IC-based distortion of "Roger" with the roundness / sharpness of your favorite sound at any position. Even at 0 Gain, there is a little distortion, just like the distortion channel of a guitar amplifier, and you can earn a considerable amount of gain by turning it up to the maximum. At any point, the player can feel the characteristics such as glossy overtones, sensual sustain, and natural compression according to picking, as if it were a vacuum tube sound. Since you can use the guitar's volume to produce a clean sound at any gain point, it is particularly recommended to use this unit as a distortion pedal to fine-tune the guitar volume during a song.

*The audio power amplifier IC at the heart of the unit will be destroyed by an input voltage of 15V or more, so please be sure to operate the unit within the following input voltage range. We recommend using the standard 9V input.
