Features

The reverb effect simulates the gentle reverberation that occurs when sound is produced in a space.

All sounds, whether they are electric guitars, electric basses, other electronic instruments, or acoustic instruments, are subject to the reverberation of the space before reaching the ears.

The sound you hear from a special seat in a spacious space designed with ideal acoustics in mind is the best performance an instrument can produce.

PRUSSIAN BLUE REVERB is a reverb effect that creates the ideal reverberation. Various reverb systems have been created throughout history to create this reverberation. Rooms created just for reverb, plates, springs, and digital reverbs... the historical evolution of reverb effects has been a pursuit of the ideal reverberation.

Nowadays, digital effect technology has developed and historical reverb effects can be easily simulated. If you want to hear the sounds played on classic albums of the past, these simulations are very useful. In addition, unique new effects that add new ideas to reverb effects can also create very wonderful effects.

PRUSSIAN BLUE REVERB is not like those historical simulations or reverb-derived effects.

BJF developed this reverb with the aim of creating the reverb that players actually want when playing guitar or bass.

Rather than a rich and powerful spring reverb or a fantastical "effector" reverb tone with an octave up, we were looking for the "ideal reverb tone" that would be left on all the time to maximize the potential of the instrument.

PRUSSIAN BLUE REVERB is a reverb pedal that contains BJF's custom program on a 24-bit high-quality digital chip. Of course, the dry signal is an analog dry-through structure that is not converted to digital.

The ideal reverb tone for guitarists and bassists is neither "spring" nor "hall" nor "room", but a combination of the characteristics of each, a neutral reverb that is not too assertive, yet still has presence.

If I had to make a comparison, I'd say it has a tone that's more hall-like than spring, but without the overly bright tone of a hall reverb.

By randomly modulating the decay time of the reverb signal, it creates a monaural effect that makes the sound seem to diffuse spatially. This random modulation is programmed to be close to the string vibration characteristics of a guitar or bass.

This is a unique feature of PRUSSIAN BLUE REVERB that differs from conventional reverb algorithms that "record echoes individually and then layer them." It is a natural, three-dimensional sound that is not dull, and is closest to the ideal reverb tone that players truly desire.

In addition, PRUSSIAN BLUE REVERB has a dynamic range about five times wider than a typical spring reverb. Filtering is applied to prevent the sound from becoming too treble or oversaturating, especially in the bass, but as a reverb effect, the wide dynamic range creates an open spatial characteristic.

At the same time, we have provided a Decay control so that the reverberation does not interfere with the rhythm. The Decay control designed by BJF is not just a control that adjusts the "reverberation length" of a typical reverb, but a control that makes it easy to set up a seamless decay that matches the tone of the guitar. The decay time can be set from 2ms to 2s, and you can actually create sounds ranging from a setting where the sound has a soft reverberation to a tone where the reverberation continues forever.

The precise Decay control and overwhelmingly natural reverb tone are close to those of studio-class reverb units made using the latest technology, but this reverb unit is designed exclusively for guitar/bass.

PRUSSIAN BLUE REVERB's early reflection is set to be short. The time it takes for the reverb to start after the attack of the guitar or bass is short, and the reverb tone is overwhelmingly natural, so there is no sudden, unnatural reverberation, and the sound spreads three-dimensionally right after you play, creating the unique feeling of PRUSSIAN BLUE REVERB.

The PRUSSIAN BLUE REVERB also has a Kill Dry switch that allows you to mute the dry signal.

This is a function that is included in many rack-type effects, but is particularly effective when connected to the parallel effects loop of some guitar amplifiers and mixers.

Also, if you connect a PRUSSIAN BLUE REVERB with Kill Dry set to the main signal chain, you can use it as a slow volume effect by setting the early reflection to a short length.
