Features
The orthodox overdrive pedal that has made its mark in history
The FULL-DRIVE 3 differs from its sibling the FULL-DRIVE 2 in that it uses both JFET inputs and JFET op-amps to produce a tube-like sound. Along with great sound, these JFETs give it an ultra-high input impedance that works well with any type of pickup, and responds quickly to your guitar's volume control.
Major features
3-way CLIPPING toggle switch
Set it to the 90's for symmetrical clipping with plenty of midrange, set the switch to WIDE ASYM for Class A harmonics, or set it to COMP-CUT mode for a pure op-amp overdrive with no diode clipping assistance for an aggressive sound that will make your amp go way louder.
Discrete Channels
Unlike the FULL-DRIVE 2, the FULL-DRIVE 3 has a completely separate OVERDRIVE channel and BOOST channel. A toggle switch allows you to switch the BOOST channel before or after the OVERDRIVE channel. The BOOST channel is a 100% JFET circuit with extremely clear and high headroom.
Buffered Bypass
FULL-DRIVE 3 pedals with serial numbers 2548 and above are Buffered-Bypass, not True-Bypass. Do not confuse the FULL-DRIVE 3 with its high quality JFET op-amp buffer for the simple single transistor buffer of other pedals. The FULL-DRIVE 3 buffer delivers a rich, FAT tone.
DYNAMICS knob
Fulltone's unique germanium diode limiter circuit not only changes the feel of the sound, but also controls the signal that overloads the amplifier input, making the tone more responsive, juicy, and sweet in the high range.
We also paid particular attention to the size of the compact case, which is approximately 20% smaller than the FD2.
