Features
The MF-107 is unlike any other effect on the planet. It offers classic hard-sync effects where the input signal modulates the internal oscillator, or VCO frequency modulation with an envelope follower that responds to the dynamics of your playing. Plug in an expression pedal to discover the personality of the FreqBox.
The MF-107 FreqBox is a one-of-a-kind effect. The effect sound is not a processed version of the input signal, but rather the input signal modulates an internal oscillator. It features a VCO with a continuously changing waveform, and you can modulate the oscillator in the following ways:
The VCO is hard-synced to the input signal.
The VCO is frequency modulated by the input signal.
The VCO frequency can be modulated by an envelope follower that tracks the dynamics of the input signal.
The amplitude of the VCO follows the dynamics of the input signal. Hard Sync is a classic analog synchronization technique that allows the start of an oscillator cycle to be reset by another. A synced oscillator takes on the frequency response of another oscillator, and when its frequency is cut, harmonics of the fundamental frequency are increased. In the case of the FreqBox, the input signal is used to reset the FreqBox VCO.
Frequency Modulation (FM9) is a technique used to get really rich sounds from simple waveforms. The type of FM used in the FreqBox is called Linear FM, and it can produce a wide range of sounds from gong and bell-like tones to whooshing tones.
Like all Moogerfoogers, the FreqBox works with any instrument or line level input, and in addition to the panel controls, it provides expression pedal or CV control inputs, as well as control outputs for interconnecting, allowing you to use the Moogerfooger like a modular synthesizer.
FreqBOX offers highly distinctive effects on any type of signal - guitars, synths, drums, vocals, wind instruments - and will open up previously unexplored sonic territories.
