The Superego Synth Engine samples every note you play to create infinite sustain.

If you freeze (keep) a chord, you can layer a solo on top of it. If you smoothly glide the frozen sound to the next sound, you can get an effect similar to portamento on a synth. You can also layer sounds one after another each time you press the footswitch, and you can set how much of the previous sound to remain. There is also an auto mode where the unit automatically freezes single notes or chords without you having to operate the footswitch.

It also has an effects loop, so you can add additional effects to the Superego's effect sound.
